Rudgewick
We were asked to repair a timber brace.
Upon comencement of work, it soon became clear that there were a number of issues with the entire, lower gable framework. and the heavy, modern breeze block infill. The framework had been sawn through with a chainsaw and then simply slotted back in place with only the occasional, small nail holding the timbers. With the result that the lower gable was on the move and the weight of the entire gable wall, internal floors, roof and chimneys was not being safely transferred to the ground via the major timber components and instead was resting on the modern French doors.
